All Saints Catholic School Communicator - Friday, September 25, 2020
Greetings All Saints Families!
We have just completed our fourth week!! NWEA MAP Testing has gone well and will be complete this coming week. Parents will receive reports in Early October. Our day to day experience continues to be positive and some of our distance learners will be returning next week! Many thanks to our teachers and parents for their support and efforts in making this possible.
Last call! Please be sure you have:
Completed the Income Eligibility Form. You do not need to list your family name. This information is used to qualify our school for state and federal funding and programs - so please assist us by returning the form!
Signed and returned the two signature pages for the 2020 - 2021 Parent & Student Handbook
Completed The Family Social Emotional Education Partnership Index (F-SEEPI). Click the link to participate!
Updated emergency, pickup and all other demographic information on FACTS SIS for each of their students so that the school has accurate records and contacts for your student. All students need to have emergency contacts listed (not just parents)
Calendar Reminders:
Wednesday, September 30 - Superhero Spirit Day
$2 donation (or more) requested for our Annual Appeal.
Students and faculty - both on-site and distance learning - are invited to wear their favorite superhero t-shirt or sweatshirt with jeans or ASCS gym shorts/sweatpants and sneakers..
This will be a contactless donation (no cash) taken through the website. Please go to https://ascsnb.org/annual-
Watch for additional Annual Fund Spirit Days in the coming months!. This year our Annual Fund is focused on defraying the costs of the special items we have needed and will need to purchase to keep our school community safe and socially distanced. To date we have spent over $6000, which was not originally budgeted, so any assistance you can provide through Spirit Day Donations or a general donation is greatly appreciated!
Friday, October 2 - 11:30 Dismissal - ½ Professional Day for all school staff. - Ex Care is available. We will follow the regular Friday schedule until 11:30.
Learning Choices - Please email Mrs. Massoud if you would like your student to return on-site from distance learning or if you would prefer your student to begin distance learning.
ASCS Sweatshirt Policy 20-21, sent earlier this week: With the change of weather and pandemic requirement that windows remain open for ventilation, our classrooms may be cooler than usual in the coming weeks and months. We will also continue to have classes and breaks outdoors as often as possible. To that end, we are amending our policies regarding sweatshirts for the current school year, as sweatshirts traditionally were only allowed with spirit uniform.
Students will be allowed to wear non-ASCS sweatshirts in the classroom/gym/indoor areas with regular or spirit uniform until October 14. (October 15 & 16 are both full dress uniform days)
As of October 19, only ASCS sweatshirts may be worn in the classroom/ gym/ indoor areas with regular or spirit uniform
ASCS sweaters are to be worn with the full dress uniform (typically Fridays and Mass days)

As of October 6, students will be required to wear regular uniform on-site. Please be sure your student has all uniform parts, including the school sweater.
Full dress uniform will be required on Thursday, October 15, for Lifetouch Photos. All students are photographed in uniform at that time. October 15 is LifeTouch Picture Day. All students are photographed in full dress uniform at that time. Information for distance learners will be provided in the coming weeks. Please be sure that your student has the required full dress uniform with school sweater.
“Formal Fridays”/full dress uniform will be required beginning October 16.
Outerwear may not be worn indoors. If a student feel chilly, the school sweater, and on regular or spirit uniform days, the school sweatshirt, are the only items that may be worn inside the school building.
ASCS fleece jackets and ASCS vests are exceptions to this policy (regular uniform days only). These are available on the Donnelly's website.
Please remember that following the October national holiday, winter uniform options are allowed on regular uniform days. Options include a white long sleeve turtleneck worn with the school sweater or sweatshirt, and on spirit/gym days the ASCS t-shirt may be worn over a solid white or dark colored long sleeve t-shirt or turtle neck. Girls may also wear Donnelly's khaki pants and are encouraged to wear black tights instead of socks. Please see the ASCS Uniform Policy, found in the 2020-2021 Student and Parent Handbook for additional information.
Water bottles - As promised, now that we have settled into a routine and students are doing well overall following safety precautions, students may use refillable water bottles beginning this week. Please be sure the student’s name is written on the bottle. Bottles left overnight may not be reused by the student until they are taken home and washed. Bottles without name labels that are left overnight will be discarded.

Attendance reminders:
Parents must call or email when the student is absent. This is especially important at this time.
Students in grades K - 8 who are absent, but healthy enough to participate in distance learning are expected to do so. If your child will be out for a planned absence, please be sure books and materials are taken home the day before.
When students are returning to school after experiencing COVID-19 symptoms or quarantine, a negative COVID test or doctor’s note clearing the student for return must be provided to the school the day prior to returning. Doctor’s notes may be emailed, faxed or dropped off in the office.
Homework Club for Gr 5-8 will begin Monday, September 28. Homework Club will meet on Mondays and Tuesdays ONLY and will be dismissed at 3:15 at the ramp exit of the Moore Center (Annex). Masks must remain on while in attendance.
After School Clubs are on hold for the present time. Hopefully we will begin sign ups during the first week of October
The schedule for Grades 1 - 8 remains unchanged for this coming week. Log in codes are provided on the schedules. Please remember that your student’s Google Classroom is the “go to” for information about schedule changes, etc!

When dropping off or picking up students, parents are required to wear a mask - even outside. Forms, etc.may be dropped off in the white mailbox outside of the main lobby at any time.
