Renweb Updates
PLEASE be sure to update your student’s information and family information as it changes throughout the year – especially telephone numbers, email addresses and allergy and medical information!
Water Bottles & Water Bubblers
As you may be aware, the water bubblers are turned off throughout the main building. This is for sanitary reasons as students tend to put their mouths directly on the fixtures. One can easily imagine the spread of germs if we allowed them to be used! Every classroom has a sink with a gooseneck spout where students may refill their water bottles brought from home. Only water may be consumed in class, although other flavored drinks are acceptable at breakfast/lunch time. Milk and juice are provided with the free breakfast & lunch provided by NBPS. Please be sure your child has a water bottle labelled with his or her name, particularly if the student is remaining for Extended Care.
ASCS Clubs
All after school clubs begin the week of September 9. Sign up sheets due August 30. Please check Renweb to verify enrollment. All club meeting dates are listed in the school calendar – see link above. T-shirt orders will be made by September 20 – students joining clubs after that day cannot be guaranteed a club shirt.
Emergency information and closure
Please note that school closures, evacuations and important emergency information are announced on a variety of media outlets ( Fox, Channel 6, etc.) as well as on our webpage, by email and by Parent Alert phone call. If New Bedford Public Schools close because of weather or public emergency, so does ASCS. Please be sure your phone numbers and email address is accurate to assure you are receiving alerts, and on a regular basis, all of your child’s progress, our weekly announcements and incidental/Extended Care billing.
