All Saints Catholic School Communicator - Friday, February 5, 2021
Greetings All Saints Families!
Twenty one weeks of school have been completed! Winter MAP assessment reports will be sent home this coming Tuesday, along with Spirit and Non-Uniform passes for students who have improved their scores (and there are many, many passes)! Our Catholic Schools Week celebrations have been a bright spot for our students and staff alike - and we look forward to some special “repeat” spirit days in the coming weeks so that everyone has a chance to enjoy these special experiences. Monday will be a regular spirit day for all students as we have rescheduled our PE team building activities from the snow day.
A special request for our long term distance learners and anyone else who was not photographed by LifeTouch in the fall - please send in or email (to [email protected]) a recent, clear (head to mid chest) picture of your student, preferably in uniform or an ASCS shirt, so that all students can be represented in the yearbook! Please send photos by February 19.
Did you know? On Dec 8, 2020, Pope Francis declared a Year of St Joseph until Dec 8, 2021 in commemoration of the 150th anniversary of St Joseph being named Patron of the Universal Church by Pope Pius IX. Check out the link here to discover more about St. Joseph and many ways that we can celebrate this year. https://www.
As of this writing we welcome our middle school back for on-site learning on Monday. As always, we will remain vigilant in following Covid protocols and disinfection, striving to keep our students and staff safe - and we ask students and families to follow those same guidelines in their personal lives. We, as you, are aware that even after following all of those protocols, it is still possible, although less likely, to contract Covid wherever you may be. As cases are made known to the school, be assured that we have and will continue to take steps to inform anyone who may be a close contact, as was necessary this past week. Parent support and understanding has been outstanding, and we are very appreciative!
Please continue to be vigilant in taking precautions, as well as being forthcoming in notifying the school (Nurse Erin Costa and myself) if your student is exposed to Covid. Please email Mrs. Massoud if your student will be changing from on-site to remote or from remote to on-site for the coming week. No communication is necessary if there is no change.
Great news for Middle School students - and eventually Grades 1 - 4 - Our Chromebooks, ordered under the ESSER Funding made available to us this past summer, have finally arrived! Our first rollout, anticipated for this coming week, will allow every middle school student to have a chromebook issued for in school use. We are excited about the expanded educational opportunities now open to our students throughout the school day. Please note that mice are not provided, so if your middle school student prefers to use a mouse, please purchase a usb mouse (and be sure to install batteries) which, like the earbuds, will be the personal possession of your student for his or her exclusive use. In the coming weeks, the Chromebooks formerly shared by Middle school classes will be repurposed for shared use by Grades 1 - 4, in addition to the set already available to them.
This Monday, February 8, 2021 is the deadline for re-enrollment of current students, as open enrollment for new students begins on that date. If your student plans to return next year, please return the re-enrollment form and tuition preference form, along with the $250 family registration fee, so that your student’s seat is held. If you are planning on enrolling a sibling new to ASCS, please contact Mrs. Camara for a registration form. Preference will be given to providing seats for siblings until February 8th. If you have questions or concerns, please contact Mrs. Massoud or Mrs. Camara.

Supporting Our School
The ASCS 2021 Annual Fund is focused on defraying the costs of the special items we have and will need to purchase to keep our school community safe and socially distanced. To date we have spent over $11,000, which was not originally budgeted - our goal is $15,000. To date we have raised $3200 thanks to the generosity of our parents! The website accepts both Annual Fund and Outreach donations for whatever charity is currently supported -- for January and until February Vacation it will be Your Options Medical. Donations will be billed to your FACTS Incidental Billing or you may send a check to the school.
