  • Middle School Parent Meeting - 6:30 PM - Unsworth Center (air conditioned basement of the middle school building!)
• Wednesday, September 5 – Regular uniform/warm weather uniform
• Thursday,September 6- Regular uniform/warm weather uniform
• Friday, September 7 - Spirit Uniform  
  • First Friday   - 8 am Mass Grades 5 - 8 - Students arriving after 7:50 report directly to church

Reminders & Announcements 

Uniforms

Overall our students are looking great, despite the heat! Please continue to be aware of and follow the uniform policies. In particular:

• Socks - must cover the ankle.  “No shows” are not acceptable.
• Shoes - with regular “dress” uniform or warm weather option - must be shoes, not black sneaker / athletic / boot type footwear. Ballet flats are not acceptable. If you feel your child is in need of an exception to this policy, see Mrs. Massoud.
• Hair - may not be worn in front of eyes. May not be dyed/highlighted in unnatural colors
• Piercings - limited to ears - small studs, small hoops only- no more than two per ear - no other facial or visible body piercing.
• Body art (tattoos) - Visible tattoos are not permitted.  Once the weather is cooler, students with tattoos will be required to wear clothing covering the tattoo. 
• Cell phones and wrist phones may not be worn or carried by students during the school day.  Middle school classrooms have numbered cell phone pouches hanging in each homeroom. Phones must be deposited there at the beginning of the day and may only be picked up at dismissal.  Wrist phones should not be brought to school. Please contact Mrs. Massoud if you have questions or concerns.

 

ASCS Clubs

All after school clubs begin the week of September 10.   

Sign up sheets were due . Please check Renweb to verify enrollment.

All club meeting dates are listed in the school calendar – see link above.

T-shirt orders will be made by September 14 – students joining clubs after that day cannot be guaranteed a club shirt. 

 

Emergency information and closure

Please note that school closures, evacuations and important emergency information are announced on a variety of media outlets ( Fox, Channel 6, etc.) as well as on our webpage, by email and by Parent Alert phone call.  If New Bedford Public Schools close because of weather or public emergency, so does ASCS.  Please be sure your phone numbers and email address is accurate to assure you are receiving alerts, and on a regular basis, all of your child’s progress, our weekly announcements and incidental/Extended Care billing.
