All 8th grade students within the Diocese of Fall River will be taking the Scholastic HSPT Placement Exam at their respective schools on Friday, December 1
(prior to the test being offered at diocesan high schools on December 2 & 9). Test results will be returned to each student's individual school and will provide important data which will help administration and faculty evaluate curriculum and student achievement. Families who are choosing to have their student take the exam at Bishop Stang on 12/2 or 12/9 instead, should be visit bishopstang.org to pre-register.
Students will be allowed to forward test results to another Diocese of Fall River high school of their choice. Forwarding the results to the high school will fulfill the placement exam application requirement for any DFR Catholic high school. Students will be asked to indicate the other school on exam day or parents may email the Director of Admissions, [email protected]. Applicants do not need to do anything else within the online application regarding the placement exam.
All exam results will be forwarded to Bishop Stang High School, putting the student in consideration for the Father Mullaney Merit Scholarship, which awards $1000 toward freshman year tuition. Students take the HSPT only once, and therefore will not be required to take the exam on 12/2 or 12/9. If a student does take the exam a second time, only the lower of the two exam scores will qualify for the merit scholarship.
