Please drop off and pick up your child at the playground side door. Our program closes each day at 5PM. A $20 late fee will be assessed for late pickups.
Breakfast is at 8:30 and lunch is at 12 Noon. Please send appropriate food with your child each day.
For safety, sneakers are recommended. Send a clean towel with your child every day.
A change of clothes is recommended for all participants 6 years old and older and may be left at the school.
DEAR time (Drop Everything And Read) will be a part of every day for all participants, often following lunch. We suggest bringing an appropriate book from home to read each day. Younger students will be teamed with reading buddies during this time or will have story time. We also have a selection of books available here. Electronic readers/phones/etc. may not be used.
Field Trips – Signed field trip permission forms required to participate. Additional fees may apply for some trips. Some field trips are walking trips and others will include bus transportation. Please be sure your child arrives before the scheduled departure time!
Water Fun Fridays – weather permitting. Bathing suits may be worn under a t-shirt. Water sandals/water shoes are recommended. Please send a change of clothing.
Toys or sports equipment may NOT be brought from home.
Electronics (iPod, Gameboy, etc., including phones) may be brought, however ASCS Staff reserve the right to limit the use of electronics and to refuse use of content deemed inappropriate. Electronics may NOT be used between 8:30 am and 4 pm.
Students entering Grades 1 – 8 will have access to a school computer each day to work on their weekly IXL summer requirements. A sign-up sheet will be provided each morning to schedule computer time for students.
Participants may use their cellphones to call a parent only in the presence of a staff person. Phones or electronics visible / in use at any other time will be confiscated by staff and must be picked up by the parent at the end of the day.
ASCS Summer Program and Staff are not responsible for loss or damage to electronics or other personal items.
If your child uses sunscreen/insect repellent, please provide your preferred product labelled with your child’s name and hand it directly to one of the staff. Sunscreen/insect repellent cannot be shared by participants or provided by ASCS.
Do not send medications with your child. ASCS Summer Program does not have a nurse on staff and cannot dispense medications or allow participants to self-medicate.
Please do not send your child if he or she is sick as we do not have a nurse on site. If your child is feeling ill, you will be contacted to pick them up.

For children ages 3-5 year’s old
A change of clothes is required for children ages 3-5 – please label with your child’s name. These may be left here.
Participants who are 3, 4 and 5 years old (or were in P3, P4, K this year) will have a separate program from 11-2 pm each day.
The first hour will be story time followed by lunch.
After lunch there will be a quiet activity followed by rest time (nap / quiet time on cot).
For safety, 3, 4, & 5-year-old participants may be directed to alternative activities at other times.
